You can receive Bitcoin from any Bitcoin wallet, and the same goes for other Cryptocurrencies.
However, if you send the wrong Cryptocurrency to the wrong Crypto address, e.g. Bitcoin, to a Litecoin address, the Crypto is lost forever and cannot be recovered.
