Why was my withdrawal reversed?

Last updated on Nov 03, 2026

A withdrawal is reversed when your bank sends the payment back after Breet has sent it. This usually happens because the receiving account could not accept the payment.

Common reasons:

  • The bank account number or bank name is incorrect.

  • Your account has receiving limits. For example, most student accounts cannot receive more than ₦50,000 at once.

  • Your bank account is restricted, dormant, or closed.

  • Your bank is experiencing a bad network issue.

Breet notifies you within 24 hours of a reversal. The amount is returned to your Breet wallet.

Try this:

  1. Check that your bank account details are correct. See how to add your bank details.

  2. Make sure your account can receive the amount you are withdrawing.

  3. Withdraw again once the funds are back in your wallet.

  4. Withdraw to a different bank in case of network issue.

If the reversed amount has not returned to your wallet, contact support via in-app chat or email support@breet.app or +2342013306184.
