How Do I Enable Multi Factor Authentication

Multi Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your Breet account. Breet currently supports two MFA options: Email OTP and Authenticator App (recommended).

How Do I Enable Email OTP?

  1. Tap "Profile" on the Home screen.

  2. Tap on "Security Settings"

  3. Tap on "MFA Authentication"

  4. Toggle On "Email OTP".

  5. Enter the verification code sent to your registered email address.

  6. Tap on "Submit".

Email 2FA is now active on your account.

Please Note: Once enabled, you will need to enter an email OTP each time you log in and for every debit transaction, including Naira withdrawals, USD withdrawals, GHS withdrawals, Buy Crypto, and bill payments.

How Do I Enable Authenticator App?

  1. Tap on "Profile" on the Home screen.

  2. Tap on "Security Settings".

  3. Tap on "MFA Authentication"

  4. Tap on "Continue" on the MFA Authentication screen.

  5. Scan the QR code displayed with your authenticator app. Alternatively, tap "Copy" next to the Time-Based Setup Key and paste it manually into your authenticator app.

  6. Tap on Continue. Your authenticator will require you to enter a one-time code to complete the set-up.

  7. Save the 10 recovery codes displayed. These codes allow you to sign in if you lose access to your 2FA method. Each code works only once, so store them securely. Tap "Download" or "Copy" to save them, then check "I have saved these codes in a safe place" and tap Continue

  8. After set-up, authorising transactions within the app will now require you to either input an authentication code from your preferred app or the 10-digit recovery code you saved.

Please Note: Your 10 recovery codes each work only once. Store them somewhere safe. If you lose access to your authenticator app and no longer have your recovery codes, use the contact our support link displayed on the recovery code screen or reach out to our team for further assistance via in-app chat or at mailto:support@breet.app.

  2. Tap Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

  3. Toggle off the active authentication method (Authenticator App or Email OTP).

  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app or your email, then tap Submit.
